James Petrillo

James Petrillo, owner of IPM Landscapes is a youthful concerned environmentalist who opened a company to fill a gap for property owners who enjoy eye-appealing landscapes but struggle to find services that produce a product with low ecological impact. All services offered at IPM Landscapes are executed with environmental sustainability in mind.

In his tenure working for PGA TOUR Agronomy, James developed his IPM approach. In the golf industry, there are many challenges to maintain a championship quality product while keeping within the budgeted costs. Esthetic values increase, as do limitations on water, chemicals, fuel, and labor.

His experience at the PGA TOUR gave James great access and a hands-on approach to creating and preserving low-cost environmentally sensitive areas that are registered with the National Audubon Society. In order to maintain Audubon status, these areas must be low-maintenance, aesthetically pleasing and provide natural food and shelter for native wildlife. James studied these areas and found many parallels in maintaining homeowners’ land in very similar ways. He now provides a company that supplies these management practices for home and business owners.

James and his wife, Jennifer Petrillo, run this family-owned Haddam, CT based business.
